Crash Bars a blessing.

Crash Bars a blessing.
Just had my heritage for 3 weeks when i was inside garage i decided to pull it out and make a u turn in the street to park it back the was it was. I dont know if the front tires hit a rock or if i just cut the bike to sharp makeing a u turn. Anyway the bike went down slowly, i was trying my best to hold her up but i was in a bad spot when she started to creep down and couldnt stop her. Bike went down but the crash bars saved it. It was like it was laying on a shorter kickstand. After i got her back in garage i just knew something was scratched or broken. I had to have looked over the bike 20 times trying to find damage on the bike. All that was done was a small scratch on the bottom of engine guard.. I still feel sick just thinking what would have got damaged without it. Just wanted to throw my 2cents worth in on how great the bars are.

A virgin no more. Victory has an interesting answer to this problem, but I'm not buying a Victory any time soon.

They don't call them crash bars any more. When they fold in a crash, the user can't sue claiming they didn't protect him or the bike.
Slow speed, they'll help keep damages down.
Seen posts where a bike was totaled by the insurance company when the highway bars tweaked the frame from a relatively minor mishap.
If I get out of shape when I get older, I might think about installing some.
