I had all the concerns and fears that people who have never had apes have, and it really isn't anything like what you worry they'll be like. They're actually really comfortable and easy to ride with.
Totaly agree , I have real bad back problems and on my train i had t bars and i just could not handle riding it , put on the 16" apes and can ride 4 -5 hours and still smiling . go apes

I went with Street Slammers and find them to be very comfortable (on a FB Lo though).. not really drag-bars per say, compared to my pop's drag bars on his train they have more pull back to them.. my second choice would have been a set of 14" or 16" apes, but I do a fair amount of highway riding and didn't know how they would affect me with the wind.. but with the SS's i feel in complete control.. beach bars I'm not sure if i've ever even seen a pair up close so i have no vote there..

If you go with the apes, go with 18". 14" or 16" won't be high enough for you. I vote for the apes, but I am a bit biased. SJ Ron

I have the narrow beach bars on my cross bones. I'm 5'7" and they're perfect. I can ride all day with them. It's really about personal preference. I think you should be able to find either style in a length that comfortable for you. Go with the look you like!

I love the beach bar look on a Deluxe and Road King. For a fat boy I would probably go with apes or drag bars. I'd probably choose the drag bars IMHO. Good luck with the decision.

Apes are the only way to go! Have 16 inch Apes and now have decided to up it to 18s... Measured my bars and actually with the risers they are around 20 inches... Perfect height and I am 5'11"

Nice looking bike - Which bars are these? Also, do you have any front and side shots?
