Default changing rear brake pads

OK, so I know it's as easy a job as there is, but I haven't done it on this bike yet, so any advice? Anything to watch out for?

I just did this exact same thing over the weekend on an '09. Extremely easy, but make sure you get a 12 point 1/4" socket before you start (to remove the pad pin). If you have the owner's manual, it lays out detailed instructions with pictures.

OK, so I just swapped out the pads, not to hard, but I did cheat a little. I'd have to pull my exhaust to be able to pull the whole caliper off, so I just released one of bolts holding it on, rolled it back as far as I could, changed out the pads, then rolled it back ahead. Was a bit of a tight squeeze, but the new pads went in.

Make sure you bleed them and put grease on the brake pin

ok, just curious though why they have to be bled for a pad replacement. Sry, maybe that's a dumb question....

You don't have to bleed them, but if you are using DOT4 brake fluid you should change it every couple years.
