Default Mirrors for Bigger People

I am 6'1" and 340lbs and very wide up top. Any recommendations for mirrors that will allow me see behind me. I know there are long stem HD mirrors, but not sure 2" more will help much. Right now, I can only see my arms and, if I change the angle, about 50-60 degrees to the side. I really can't see much of anything that is behind me, which conerns me a bit when changing lanes. I have a fatboy lo and don't want to change bars. Thanks for any recommendations.

I would recommend the Harley split view mirrors. I use them on my bike and they have worked out great for me. They are not the best looking mirrors, but they are not that bad either. The outward portion of the mirror is convex and gives you a nice wide angle view of objects in the lanes next to you. I know you mentioned that you didn't want to change your bars, but some nice 14" ape hangers would completely solve your problem.

Not sure if this is an option for you but on my old Sportster, I flipped the mirrors upside down (hang under the handlebar) and I think it's much better visibility behind you. It has you looking under your arms instead of on top of them. Just check clearance of the mirrors against your tank when making sharp turns.

All I could see were my elbows, so I put bar-end mirrors on to solve the problem.

I had the same problem as you until I installed the Kuryakyn extenders. I tried the Harley extenders at first but they did not work well for me. With the Kuryakyn's I can see behind me now with no problem.

Once the weather here gets warmer I am going to paint them to match the mirrors.

I just bought some new mirrors "Russ something or other" on ebay that should work, but if they don't this is the best I ahve seen yet. It would have saved me $70 yesterday, but live and learn.
