I've had a Thermarest for a couple of years, really like it, very comfortable and packs reasonably small. For me a one-man tent is just too small, so I use a Eureka Tetragon 4. Here's my standard setup including tent, bedroll and folding chair. Clothes, etc go in the T-bags.

How do you like that Biker's Friend bag? My brother and I are thinking about ordering a couple each.

I like it alot.
Mine is the medium size.
Pockets on the outside, expands when you stuff it and strong enough to sit on.
The backrest pad is a nice feature too.
Big enough for a 12 pack of cans w/room left over.
Makes a great place for things you want to get to easily and quickly.
Raincoat, map, camera, gloves, water, snacks, etc.
It usually stays strapped on the luggage rack when my bags and camping gear aren't on.

Pearls:
3/4 pads suck. A 2-man tent is just big enough for one. Sleeping bag rated lower than 30 deg. is too warm for summer trips. Sleeping pads should be at least 2-1/2" thick. Stoves and pans are for at home. Road-side-assistance is golden.

Heading to BRP for 5 nights next week. As a thru hiker--Pacific Crest and Appilachian Trail. Riding and camping is nirvana. +1 on the lightweight gear available. Big Agnus 2 man cooper spur tent, thermarest (full lenght), good down bag, change of clothes (synthetic and jeans), pocket rocket, small titanium pot, cover for bike, rain gear, food and water. Nice to ride a few days then hit a hotel and get a steak now and then. Life with a Harley in America baby!! Now if i could just shake this job...

marine corps issued gear for me lol. i can get it all in one pack and strap it to the sissy bar and roll. But i know not everybody has access to this gear sorry. compression sacks for sleeping bags and clothes are the way to go. I can get five days of clothes and a sleeping bag in my roll bag and swing arm bag. And for longer trips i have the saddleman big a** sissy bar bag. Love this thread.
