My dryer also vents into the garage - right where I have to park my bike! (one car garage). As stated, when the dryer's running, raise the garage door some and cover the bike. No probs as yet. Cotton sheets will be fine.

Warg, I'll admit I didn't read all the posts, just yours. If i can make a suggestion, use a silicone impregnated bike cover. Not only the lint but the damp humid air (from the drier) will really play havoc on your bike. Or better yet re-vent the drier directly outside (best solution).

Gentlemen

Warg I know you mentioned the vent will be relocated at one point but also to 220 Dix, or any of you other brothers that have dryer vents in the garage. If you fire your bike in the garage these vents are also a direct vent for emmisions (deadly carbon monoxide) to enter the house. That is exactly why code doesn't allow them. Keep this in mind and it is highly suggested to relocate the vents.
Cheers!

Thanks for the info. This was probably done on the house in 1984 when an addition was added. My only option is up through the roof. One more project on the list.

You can look into replacing your dryer with a condenser dryer. Saves rerouting the vent and you don't have to worry about a cover or dust/lint.
Might be cheaper/easier too.

I have a cover, more to keep it from prying eyes than anything else. Hate the way it always succeeds in getting stuck on exhaust or fenders or footpegs ... also makes a fine breeding place for spiders and other creepy crawlers when not using the bike for a while.

Like you I do a lot of traveling. If I am going somewhere for over a week then I do cover my bike. When I lived in Florida we got some pretty bad rains and that is when I discovered a leak in the roof. The water knocked down some plaster and almost hit the bike.

Since deploying I have left it in a family friend’s climate controlled garage with some of his show cars for the past nine months. Although I felt this was as good as parking it in the house itself, I still put a cover on it. I just don't want anything to happen while gone and by covering it prevents something from happening, then I am all for it.

I cover my Deluxe with a Harley cover I got from the previous owner. It helps keep the kids (especially neighbrhood kids) from messing with stuff.
