Default Smoked or clear tail lens

I am looking in changing all my turn signals into the smoked lens flat covers. I am also concidering changing out the tail light lens to either smoked or clear. I have the 06 Heritage standard and can not find a smoked tail lens that will fit it. I can find the clear but don't know how that will look. I am planing on changing out all the rings to visor style and using the chorme visor cover thing on the tail lens.

Any imput would be appreciated.

I have the smoked turn signal lenses and trim rings and I really like the way they look.

Check out the Kuryakyn one. I'll post a link. I was gonna do this, but decided I would rather have a red tail light for cars to see. I love the way the smoke lenses look, but safety is first. I also have red signals, and will keep 'em that way. http://kuryakyn.com/products.asp?bn=harley&ci=3007

I wonder how much light will be lost by doing this. I have heard from two different parties about the way those work. Any input???

Yes I'll bet its visible, but cars look for red lights when someone is slowing. thats my thinking.

Think that is why you use a red light bulb so that it shows up red.

I have that taillight on my Night Train, and it is red when it's on. It also has built-in turn signals, so that when I hit a signal, an amber arrow pointing the way I'm going flashes along with my regular turn signals. I also have the matching rear signals, which are red when acting as driving and brake lights, but change to amber when acting as signal lights.

Cheers!

I have clear lenses with amber bulbs on my bike and I prefer them to the smoked lenses. No particular reason, just my preference.
