Default Bike Tipped!

Well Wednesday night was not so good. I had picked my bike up last weekend after having some new forward controls put on and the shotgun shock installed. I'm in my garage wednesday night talking to my buddy about the stuff I had done and I had the bike slammed. As we're standing there talking not really looking at the bike he start yellin "whoa, whoa, whoa" and bam my bike hits the floor. Luckily my air cleaner sticks out past my tank and the only damage was some paint rubber off the air cleaner and my blacked out pipes need to go back to Jet Hot as they got messed up pretty bad. Nothing broken just those 2 cosmetic things.

After looking everything over we found the cause of the problem. With my new forward controls I had to purchase a new kickstand bracket from Supreme Legends which is who made the controls. My old kick stand use to go out to like 105 degrees so the bike was leaning pretty good to the left. The new bracket has the stand at like 87-90 degrees and the bike basically stands straight up. With the bike slammed it brings it upright even more and thats basically why it tipped.

With so many other people on here having the shotgun on their bikes I havent heard of anyones bike tipping over then it's slammed. This leads me back to the kickstand bracket being the culprit. My question is are all kickstands the same length? I think if I get a shorter kickstand it'll make the bike lean more to the left so it doesnt tip again. Anyone got any ideas on how to fix the issue? The kick stand is mounted right to the forward control plate, is there another place I can mount it?

Sucks your scoot fell, hope you can get it all worked out. Maybe something like this will ensure it never happens again...

I have one of these on my other bike that has been slammed. It mounts to the forward control and included the longer bolts for easy installation.

That bike was sitting upright much like yours and got tipped, but I watched it happened and saved it from a fall. At least it didn't fall on anyone. Sorry about that though, that sucks.

I run a Ness rear adjustable stand. There are shorter stands out there and also the stand mount wedges to get more angle on the stand.

That stinks. That is a problem I have never encountered before. Even after I lowered my bike it still has plenty of lean when on the stand.

This is the stand I run as well. I had lowering bolts before the Shotgun shock and my bike almost stood stright up. One day in the driveway conditions were perfect and the bike fell over. There have been a few threads about a shorter stand on a lwered bike. Several guys say it's no need their bike is fine. Once your bike tips over it tends to change your mind. IMO you need a stand with enough lean when your bike is parked slammed or otherwise.

I put on the hd short stand for that very reason. Cost me $87 at zanottis. Part # 50175-95

It's exactly like your stocker, just an inch shorter. I also have the shotgun and the front is lowered 2".

I've had a shorter stand sitting in my garage since before I bought my shotguns. If I leave the bike all the slammed it makes me nervous as I've caught it right before a tip over. I'll be putting it on pretty soon, but all these guys with rear stands has got me thinking

I use the stock stand on mine and it doesn't even come close to standing up with the air dumped and on the bumper. You running a 21 front or smaller?
