Default LED Fuel Gauge Diamond Black not seating properly/install issue

Has anyone else had a problem with installing an LED Fuel Gauge Diamond Black Collection (75358-10)? My bike is a 2010 FLSTFB

The fuel gauge doesn't seat properly if you try and line up the bar and shield so that it's parallel when you are sitting on the bike and the LED's are facing out. The dealer has tried two different units and they both had the same problem.

They have an inquiry out to HD but wasn't sure if anyone else has seen this and/or if it might be an issue with the tank. The OE fuel gauge fits just fine.

Installed them on my Street Bob, no issues, everything lined up good.

Good luck!

Any resolution for this? I installed the diamond black led on my 2011 fat bob and it too won't seat properly. I go to push it all the way down and it pops back up about an 1/8th of an inch.

I'm having the same problem with mine, and just did a search here and found this thread and another with the same issue, but no resolution.

Did anyone figure this out, or are these supposed stick out of the mount like this?

^^^ I installed the flush mount LED on my Lo, and it sits flush. It looks like it's not snapping all the way down in that pic. That is definitely not right.

yeah that's not right at all.. are you sure the wire will pulled all the way through the tank, and isn't bunched up under the gauge? and you have the right part for the right year? almost looks like it's kinda being put in on an angle..

the flush-mount ones just slipped right in, no problem
