Default Sore wrists with stock Fatboy bars?

Anyone out there get sore wrists from the stock handlebars on their fatboys? I find that at hiway speeds, the wind pressure pushes me back in the saddle, and I have to pull myself forward. The angle on the stock handlebar is such that my wrists are 'turned out' and not aligned square...over time this causes discomfort and pain.

I am considering drag bars...I like the looks of them and I think they will result in a more neutral angle on my wrists while riding.

Comments?

-Rob

BTW, I have a pretty long reach and I think this may contribute to the wrist angle problem.

Comments? Stock Fatboy bars, for me, sucked. Wasn't my wrists, but lower back. Hated leaning foward all the time. The answer was obvious...

I went with 12" apes my self to solve the lower back issues.

Not sure about the fatboy bars but I had some replacements on my heritage that were similar I loosened the clamps and rolled them back so the handles were lower and it straightened my wrists. Just make sure they ends will clear your knees and the tank when you turn.

I had the same issue. The bars on my LO had me leaning WAY forward. Put some Wild1Chubbys on with 14.5" of pullback and now I'm sitting pretty and happy as hell with the fact that my back doesn't ACHE anymore.

Test....

Put ur arms out in front of U and spread them the width of Ur bars....
Are hands square or at an angle??..
That the normal angle that Ur bars should be..

IMO if U go with Drag bars again IMO,, U''ll end up putting more strain on U back after several hrs riding....

I rode a friends FB last week, he has Beach bars.. the wide ones.. I don't really care for the looks but they felt pretty good,,

In all the bikes I've owned the Stock bars on our 07 Heritage is by far the most comfortalby bars I've ever had on a bike.. Not the newer ones the Heritage now have. the 07's are different.
Pobably why a lot of RK owners go with them also...

U'll just have to see what fits U the best,

I've written in here lot of times to help other find what U'd like..
Sit on U bike while someone holds it upright.
Close Ur eyes and reach out and put Ur arm and hands to what feels good to U..
Then measure where there at and then find the bars that fits those measurements.

I was also having wrist and low back problems. I was going to change the seat and then bars. After I changed to a Corbin Solo seat, my wrist and back pain went away. The Corbin seat sits you a bit lower and back. Now I don't think I'm changing bars, for now.

I put the 4" pull back risers on, which brings them up and back a tad, then I rotated the bars down just a little, now they are very comfortable, my hands land just right.

The bars were going to be one of the first things that I was going to change until the parts guy at the dealer talked me into trying out the risers. Now they will be one of the last things I change, if i ever do change them. I think the bike handles much better too.

Everyone is different though. The risers are much cheaper to try out and if you don't like them, you can sell them pretty darn quick.

I am getting the stock bars replaced with the Street Slammer bar. I tried it just sitting on a bike and it felt good, but that doesn't tell me what they would be like on a long ride. Anyone here tried the difference between the stock 2010/11 bars and the Street Slammers?
