For me it was too much of a muffler type sound and it felt like I lost a little midrange power. With the BCT it has more of a full range sound to it. More low end rumble with also more trebly sounds. They are a little bit louder than the V&H quiets, but not enough to matter to me. They are still quieter than the stock baffles and have a much better tone. I got back all that lost midrange power also. It actually seems to run better than with the stock baffles. Being a musician, I know tone is very subjective, but for my tastes The QQ's are the way to go.
Did you install these baffles in the standard holes or did you drill new holes farther up? I just ordered a pair of these baffles for my 05 Heritage
with Big Shots Staggered and would like to know the best location to put them.

Also what are you doing with the V&H quiet baffles?
I have a pair of V&H quiet baffles. I didn't like the sound. Thought it sounded like a Honda. Ordered a pair of BCT's QQ baffles and just put them on. Put them 6" from the end of the pipe like they said was the sweet spot. They sound great, like a Harley is suppose to sound. Can't really comment on the performance yet because of all this damn rain!
I will let you know if I notice a difference.

To all of you wondering about the BCT QQs, I finally installed mine a few weeks ago and am VERY pleased! I have an 06 Dyna Super (FXDI), with the TC88, SE High Flow, V&H Short Shots, and PCV. The V&H SS pipes were LOUD! So I took out the stock baffles, measured the muffler section of each pipe, then had the stock baffles cut to the right length so when "tacked" (welded) to the BCT QQs, the QQs went right up to the head pipe where they met with the muffler section, and maybe an inch into the head pipe. They were tacked to the cut section of the stock V&H baffles and reinstalled into the stock holes. This way I did not have to drill any new holes. I instantly gained back almost ALL my mid-range power, and the tone dropped to a low rumble. JUST the way a Harley should sound. However, the dB levels also dropped down to a very quiet level, so much so that I did not know if I liked what I just did at first. But I was assured that after "break in time", things would even out and get better, and after a few weeks and some highway (auto-bahn) riding, that is exactly what happened. Now she sounds out-freakin'-standing!, and when the pipes break in settled, the dB level rose only a little, but just enough to give a beautiful sound. Just loud enough to still put out a good solid rumble, however, quiet enough to where my ears are no longer bleading after a few miles down the road.

Unless I'm mistaken, aren't the BCT baffles just a sleeve insert with the old bolt and washer inside, like we used in drag pipes back in the day?

Well I dont know about the regular BCT Thunder Monster baffles, but the QQs are a sleeve with a cone end, open end, suspended "washer" in the middle and walled off section right after the cone but before the washer. Its not all that complicated really, but it works! LOL! So I guess it is kinda like a fine tuned, modern version of the old washer trick from back in the day.
