Default Oil question

Hey guys,

I got a 2011 deluxe and need to top off the oil. Do you guys use 20w50? What is a good oil to use? I have used amsoil before great product but pricey just to top off. I was thinking about using mobil 1 v-twin 20w50, thanks for the help.

If you add any oil to the engine it has to be 20/50. I would use what you have and buy the amsoil when you do your next oil change. Look at the amsoil website and it will give you suggested oil weights:
20/50 engine
10/40 primary
75/140 tranny
thats what I run.

I've never thought of oil being too expensive to top off with. I mean it's still going in your motor right? Use what you would normally use.

I use regular harley 20-50 oil and i change it every 1000 miles call it crazy but its the cheapest maintenance you can get. I use syn in the primary and red line in the tranny

Why do you think it needs to be topped off?

Don't chk it cold. Run the motor until warm.

Mine always shows low if I chk it cold. Even these
newer ones sump a little (1/2 - 1 Qt?)
