Doing it right is a matter of opinion. I love my Road6 Customs plateholder. Very sturdy, works with the swingarm bag. I like the minimalist look of it. No muss, no fuss kind of deal. To each their own. And for $25 shipped, the price was right! i think it would look great on your train.

I went the road6customs route and was very impressed with the quality of the product. $25 and fast shipping. Because of the recessed swingarm on the rockers, I had to mount it on the inside of the axle and just shaved the axle spacer. Solid, and it let me keep my lw bag. (excuse the sub-par pics...just took these with the cell before I removed all my tins)
