I was talking to some fella's today at work, and one of them mentioned he only had 1 baffle installed on his bike. He has two separate exhaust runners (2 into 2), but he only has one of the baffles installed. I asked him why, and he told me "For sound... butI don't want it to loud"". Is this not a good idea? I would think that it would cause some issues with the bike running ideally, amongst other things. He does not have a "Tuner" installed to correct the missing Baffle's back pressure... I am just curious. Anyone care to enlighten me? Thanks in advance!
Never heard of it before. I would think it would run a bit ragged and contribute to heat issues in one cylinder. The one cylinder under greater pressure logically would heat faster than the other that is breathing freely though the pipe with the missing baffle. Interesting...it's his bike though. I wonder if he's pulling your leg...
Evidently he doesn't have true duals or else it'd run like s**t! If he has the stock headpipes he can get away with it. I ran mine without the left baffle for a while and it performed no different. Louder exhaust note but not necessarily a good one!
I ran one baffle in my old sporty for about 30 miles since it decided to spit the other one at my friend ridin behind me. It had carb so I didnt notice to much of a difference just a lil louder
