Just to confirm one last thing, I also changed the points cover... that one is simply disattach and attach the new one correct?

There is nothing behind the points cover. On the newer bikes it's just there so you can spend some money in the shop for an accessory one. No gasket needed

 

Update: Got the flat derby cover gasket, topped off the primary oil. Everything seems to be perfect! thank you all for the help! Going to start some more mods this weekend and might need some more help! will post pictures as soon as I am done!

Me neither Drew, thanks for all the help with the handlebar project! I am doing some work on it this week, and then the pending things are the handlebars and the jockey shift! Will post up some pictures before that gets done though....
