Default Detachable Sissy Bar

Do you have to relocate the rear turn signals when installing a detachable sissy bar on an 06 Fatboy?

Are there any other detachable sissy bars made other than HD that are better priced? I won't use it often, only when my wife rides, maybe 25% of the time.

The only detachable ones that I've seen are HD, but I'd be interested if there are aftermarket economical options out there that I'm not aware of...

The best detachable system (IMHO) is Bubbas. www.bubbasbrakes.com But they are more expensive about $ 200.00 for the sissy bar sideplated and hardware. It's a cleaner set up than the HD and much closer to the bike doesnt leave any plastic bushing on the bike when it is off.

I have a 2005 Fat Boy and was able to get it to work without moving the TS, I did not want to move the TS because I dont like the stems on the HD relocation kit, I think they look cheap. It was a tight fit. I also had to cut away a little of the back of the sideplates but they work fine and for the few times that I ride with a passenger or need to mount the sissy bar bag it works great.

On my 2005 the turn signals didn't have to be relocated to add the removable sissy bar.

On my 06 FatBoy, the turn signals had to be relocated. It was not a fun job. The turn signal relocation kit from Harley is very poorly designed. After removing the rear fender to get to everything it was still very difficult to run the wiring through the new turn signal stalks. One of them broke while trying to tighten it and I had to buy another kit. It looks ok after it is done but it is a frustrating job.

Did the struts or location of the turn signals change from 05 to 06 b/c some of you had to move them and some of you didn't?
