Default HD oil cooler kit and changing the oil filter

Ok I have searched and tried to look at all the pictures I can, but I cannot find a straight answer. My question is about need to the remove the crank sensor to remove the oil filter after the installation of the oil cooler and the oil filter adapter. Some say yes I will need to remove it, others say no, some recommend a shorter filter and some even say to buy an offset adapter…. ughhhh sometimes too much information is worse than none at all.

So once and for all will I need to remove the crank sensor to change my standard size chrome HD oil filter after installing this kit???

In case it matters
09 Fatboy
HD part # for the cooler 26157-07

thanks
Rich

On my 11 Heritage, you do not have to remove the Sensor, but it is very tight. I bought the Harley Oil Filter Wrench that has the "cut out" to make it easier.

I had an 04 fatboy and now a 2010 heritage and never had to remove the sensor to remove the oil filter. I do use the HD wrench with the cut out.

Depends on the type of oil filter wrench you use.
