What about the OLD GUYS ???
Well I have only made reading this thread to page 63 or so.....
I remember wearing a red flaked 3/4 helmet in the 60’s...
They are quite a bit taller now but would like to get another....
Seems the cat’s *** after reading in here is the “Rockhard”
But no one has said a thing about audio as far as that CD played in the batwing fairing.....
Can you hear it with these new well padded DOT Rockhard 3/4 helmets???
Also seems the smallest lightest 1/2er is the outlaw 50030 series....
Looks just like the helmet a company put out in 2008 or so called ACC
After a year people found that company was actually selling non DOTS for a outrageous price with shipping @ 200 bucks
I know alllllll about it I bought TWO.......
I’ve heard all the pros and cons about helmets....I’ve been riding the highways and city streets since 1968...
My biggest concern is that HUGE ticket.......IMO I don’t think any of us will find a helmet out there that’s going to be 100% fail safe for your noggin......
This is just my two cents seeing I’m looking for a few new helmets that are light and not so damn HUGE.......
As far as non DOT helmets I’ve rode many of years with those also....
Keep in mine the if the unfortunate happens the guy that come out to scrape you off the pavement WON’T be using a DOT approved shovel.......
At my age the ticket is the thing here and the size and weight of the helmet.....I bet there is 1000’s here that will agree with me.....
Plus again at my age a 70 MPH crash off of either my Street Glide or Low Rider is gonna total me anyway.....
Ok....no haters here just my 2 cents.....
But for those of you LIKE me that bought the ACC nice and light carbon fiber rip-off.......it sure looks a lot like that OUTLAW 50030 for sure.....at least ACC gave you a choice of perimeter padding to make it fit perfectly and included 3 different pads with the helmet....RIDE SAFE

Ditto DeeBlues! Well said!
I think I'm leaning towards a Skull Crush Helmet, But being in Texas I'll only wear it during the winter, which for me is anything under 70 degrees. A dew rag or fleece beanie just don't keep my bald head warm in the winter.
So, I'm looking for warmth not Snell or Dot.
I have a $15 novelty that fits OK but its a 1/2 shell & I think I'm going for ear coverage on a 3/4 shell this time.

I currently have a Novadot Helmet Large and too much wind noise and lift.
Does anyone recommend these helmet Rockhard American, Bell 500, or Outlaw? I also notice some outlaw come with built in speaker (anyone tried these?)
