I recently received the Lick NovDot. After a bit of riding, I am very pleased with it. It is very comfortable. Plus, I did receive some good customer service from Licks. It took about a week to receive.

My NovDot is my new normal helmet with the Outlaw being my hot weather helmet.

I took several (poor) photos of the NovDot, last years Outlaw carbon and for comparison, a 10 year old HJC half helmet. The HJC is huge!

The Outlaw and HJC are mediums and the NovDot is a large (their sizing chart worked for me).

Dangit wish I could find one of those Outlaw Carbons in medium or maybe even a small for my wife.

I got it because I didn't feel like having to worry about being harrassed by LE's and also wanted a little more safety with a DOT helmet.
I ordered the first one last week with the OL as a guinne pig. It fits well and only has a small piece of foam on the top of the inside of the helmet. It is as low a profile as you can get. It sits substancially lower on the head than the Outlaw Ultra Slim Profile Fiberglass Black Matte Motorcycle Half Helmet that I also ordered with it as a comparison. The helmet shell is not as wide either.
I guess they can make it smaller with the stronger carbon-fiber.
It's damn close to the look of my illegal novality helmet in my opinion.

I am very happy with the fit and look of it.

Here is the sight for both:
Look at the multiview to see the padding for on top of the head.

I personally don't like the detachable visor, so I won't have that on the helmets.
I also just unscrewed the buttons for the visor and put in small black plugs from the hardware store in the holes where the screws were.
Thats what I get for not paying attention. I skimmed your review and then hastily ordered the one in the second link. Definately not what I was expecting. Just as big as my other mushroom head halfs. Learned my lesson...

Here is the Licks NovDot Matte Grey (Medium). I wear a size 7 in fitted caps (roughly 21 1/4 inches) and the medium is a little loose. I think I could have gone with a small. A little lift at 55mph, but tucking in my chin prevents it. Overall, pretty pleased with this helmet. Love how light it is.

Also wearing the goggles I got at Licks .

If you look at the pic Biggerfoot posted below.
The outlaw is on the left.
As you can see, the padding on the sides of the helmet is about half of the Licks NovDot (far right)
The padding on the top of the head is a piece of soft foam.
Believe it or not, it is very comfortable.
The helmet sits a lot lower on your head and only a 1/2" off the side of your head and avoids the "Mushroom Head Look"

Ultimately, the choice is up to the individual.

I just bought one last week and another this week from Leatherup.com Better get em before they sell out.

Hey Jester,

Any chance you can post a pic with you wearing the helmet you got from LU?

Yeah Jester I would like to see a pic of it too. Doesnt really have to be on your head I can tell just by seeing the padding.

If ya just need to see the inside padding, it is the helmet on the left.

Believe me, it's bare minimum padding for the crown of your head. It is just the carbon fiber than the usual hard foam then a small 1/4 in stick on piece of foam. Believe it or not, I had it on for 2 hrs. and it was comfy.
That's why I bought a second one for my girlfriend.

Don't have much time right now to take a pic and post it.
I'll try to next week.

That pic that Biggerfoot posted is last years model......which I have one of. What Im wanting to see is how they changed the new one up on the inside.

Which model number did you get exactly? I have heard Leatherup sucks in the CS department so wanna make sure I dont have to return it if I decide to get one.
