Default Some riding discomfort need help please

Hi guys, So in the past three weeks weve had a few good days here in Rhode Island, Ive managed to put about 120 mi on my new deuce. I love the bike but I'm only 5'9" and the bike has ext forwards and drags with no sweep back at all. the riding position becomes a bit uncomfortable after a while. Another thing is that I find my inner thigh muscles start to burn a bit after sustained high speeds. this is because my knees want to open due to air resistance. I think the air cleaner is the culprit on that side of the bike. I think, I havnt sat on her in about a week.

Im just wondering if anyone else has had comfort issues on the deuce. Anyone my hight in particular.

Thanks Guys, Pete

I'm in RI and haven't got out yet. Too much sand on the road.

Your height shouldn't be a problem on it, maybe try new bars

If it has extended forward control, try removing the extension. And maybe some different bars. I think I can picture your current situation: Feet way forward, arms way forward, butt back, you're shaped like a "C" and catching all the wind. Yeah, that would be fatiguing.

fork wind deflectors will help with your knees wanting to come outward. It helped when I put them on my heritage. Also add a backrest if you don't have one and pull those extensions in.

You are probably a little out of whack like gforrest2 describes, but if you have only ridden it 120 miles I wouldn't get too discouraged just yet. Remember you are using muscles you probably haven't used like this before. I am 5'10 and far from aerodynamic. It takes conditioning to get used to a 70 mph blast in the chest. I would give it a chance before I spent a lot of money. After that take a picture of you on the bike and that should help give you an idea which way to go.

Change the bars or install pullback risers and yes if the forwards are extended take them off . I'm 5'9" and have 6" pullbacks on my bike and they work ok with dragbars. I am swtiching to street weepers tis year and see if they are better. Depends on the seat thats on it too, my LePara sets me back a little where the badlander is more forward. Take some pics so we can see. All softails FX are the same the Deuce like the Rocker have a long tank
