Default '10 FXSTC rear tire

my stock rear tire D407 is about done. What are you doing for replacement? I'm seeing D205 and D401 available. What is the difference/advantages? Looks like Avon has a cobra that is the same size, too. Any/all feedback appreciated. NOTE:this is just the newer 200/55-17 I'm asking about, not the older models

TIA,
Rem

I am trying a Metzler right now, but only have a 1,000 miles on it. My indie likes the Avons, hated mounting the Metzler. He says the rubber is too hard and will wear quicker. Lotta people have said the Metzler handles better than the Dunlop, but I haven't noticed anything significant difference. I am just hoping to get more than 5,500 miles out of this one. I had some Avon Venoms on a Super Glide years ago and liked them.

I put the pirelli Night dragon on mine last fall. It seems to ride much better than the Dunlop that was on it. It seems to lean into thew corners much easier. As for mileage I've only got 2500 miles but it still looks new.

Cheaper too.

I get the best handling and decent mileage (6-7k) from the Avon Cobras.
The Metzlers i've tried were ok but I don't feel they were as good as the Avon.

Out of those two tires I choose a D205. I used to run those on my sport bikes as they are nice and sticky and still provide a decent life.
