I ran the Metz's for the 1st 3 years I had my bike. I got around 10,000 miles on the rear. Last time around, the set was going to be around $350 (up from $220 when I started), so I shopped around and decided to try the Dunlap Elite 3's. Got them for $200 shipped to my door.
Good handling tire, doesn't grab the rain grooves like the original Dunlops, and I should get 12,000 easy out of the rear. If you upgrade to the 140 width, u get more usable tread depth and longer mileage.

Avon Venom X best tires I've ever had. My primary concern is traction in curves, rain and cold weather and these excel in all conditions. I get good distance, around 16k front and 12k rear. Softer compound, many say they get far fewer miles but I don't know how unless doing burnouts, etc. Metzler 880s are great for large bikes like ultras, but actually ate a harder compound and will not perform as well in cold. Being from Michigan, that's important for me. Either way, Avon and metzler are both better than dunlops imo.

Best mileage was from a Metz but my favorite is the Avon Cobra.
Don't know how anyone gets 10k+ on a 200mm unless they ride it down to the cords.
