can they be changed without pulling the tank....

no way brother i have chaged my rocket box's and rocker box covers to chrome pulling the tank is a must good luck!

I was just curious because I have seen that tool hd has for the bolts, I didn't think so, but thought I would ask....thanks

Pulling the tank is no big deal, just messy. You're a lot better off to make room to do a job like that.

You can unbolt your tank, and block it up with a piece of wood in front or rear according to which Rocker box you are working on. Don't forget to unplug the fuel line.

I have seen the special tool too. What advantage would this very flat tool have other then getting on those bolts without removing the tank and slice the rocker box covers out?
For the complete box you have to remove the tank.
I think the cover only in black is looking nice.
