I'm looking into replacing my stock bars with some 16" hangers. Ive measured, I have researched the net and other forums but cant get a solid answer on the length of cables I need to purchase. Clutch, brake, and throttle are what I need. And is there anything I'm not thinking of that I will need?

 

I just bought a 2010 Deluxe, and part of the promotion was $2500 in HD accessories, so I had the dealer order me their 16 fat ape hangers and all nessasary hardware to install. This chart will give you an idea of whats needed... You can enter in the part numbers on the hd website and they will tell you the discription of the part as well as the length of each cable.

These are the measurements I got when I ordered mine, for an 02 fxst, 16" apes 2" Risers

Clutch Cable 74"
Throttle Cable 39.5"
Idle Cable 39.5"
Brake Line 52"

 

Why not just put the bars on and measure. That way you know you're getting a custom fit. No less and no more. It only takes a few days to get cables after you order them. With some companies, i.e. Magnum charging a 25% restocking fee, you want to get it right the first time.
