My only regret is I would have liked to be able to have kept my Fatboy. But 6 weeks into owning the Road Glide and Ive put almost 3000 miles on it with just after work and a little weekend afternoon riding. Its made the rides effortless, I never realized how much easier it is to put a couple hundred miles on a Touring Bike vs a lowered softail, I get off at the end of a ride and Im ready for more.
But Im also getting older

this has nothing to do with anything, but since this thread was ressurected i'll throw in a couple pennies.
A buddy I ride with has a 2001 Electra Glide Standard, and he wanted to put extended bags on it (both downwards and backwards in length).. He rides pretty hard too.. like his floorboards are getting ground down, and the brackets they mount to are also getting ground down.. so he was worried about the deeper bags scraping. So he calls up a few places and asks them what the odds are of them hitting the ground..
The point of that BS story is this.. The company told him to take some paint mixing sticks (free at Home Depot/Lowes/etc) and tape them to the current bags and extend each a different length (3", 4", whatever extension you're looking at).. and then go for a ride. If the stick is still there when you get home, then you didn't hit the ground, and you'll be fine with those bags. Yeah. Was just a tip for anyone who has bags and is looking to extend.
