What should I expect to pay to have mine cut down at a local glass shop?

Don't bother having a glass shop cutting your windshield...do it yourself. It is really easy. Just mark it where the new cut line will be, go for a ride with that marking on there so you are sure it is correct, then tape around the mark so you won't scratch the shield with your sabre saw, and saw it off. Then use sandpaper to smooth the edges, working down from medium to fine grits. Polish the edge if you wish. The whole process probably takes 15 minutes.
