I say 16" and if you want bigger then get taller risers. I love my RSD Vintage Apes with stock risers and I'm 6'1". Not sure how Army MP's are but when I go onto my Air Force base all they wanna see is my I.D. Maybe because there are so many bikers here being next to Sturgis they don't give a hoot for all the technical stuff like DOT helmets and MSF cards.
