I switched out the cams on my '06 at 25,000 miles, and at the same time popped in new cam chain tensioners because they're cheap and I was in there anyway. The originals looked fine. I'll take another look at 50,000 miles. As for the warm-up, I generally let it idle until the rear cylinder head is warm to the touch, then take off at low RPM for a little bit.
