Default Exhaust from CHROME to MATTE BLACK?

I love my V/H 2 into 2, BUT I found some new pipes (also 2 into 2) that I just think will look sik on the Fat Boy Lo. Problem is they only come in chrome.

I know this has to be done with heat resistant aplication. My question is who would know how to take new chrome pipes and turn them to matte black? Anyone done this with new pipes?

I've said it before....and I'll say it again.

If you take them pipes off your Lo, you might as well drop em in the mail to me same day.

There is a way to PC the pipes...I believe its ceramic.....but not totally sure off the top of my head. But I have heard a few guys that I talked to say they could even do my pipes for me.....

I have my Thunderheader getting blasted and ceramic coated right now. It was black to begin with but it was fading fast. The same can be done with chrome. They'll remove the chrome and then ceramic coat it.

I had mine sandblasted. Then I took High Temp Spray paint and did them myself. Easy to touch up.

that my friend was the answer I was looking for!!! So after sand blasting did you use anything else or do anything else (besides wiping them down) before applying the high temp paint?

Rattle can or sprayer? and where did you get the paint, locally? Thanks, I like what you did bro!

Rattle can High Temp BBQ paint from Krylon.... Home Depot

I just wiped it down.

I don't put a lot of miles on this particular bike, but that was 3 years ago. The pipes scrape A LOT.... I haven't had to touch it up yet..

Sand blasting cost $25.. a can of paint was like $5

Just keep in mind. I'm only talking the slip ons.... so it might be a little more for a full set of pipes.
