All speedo readings, as far as being accurate ???

 

What did the ZR1 have for a tranny, and was it topped out or you let off? At least I know that vehicle could handle that speed, not just on perfect straightaways.

Also, what was modded on the train??

 

Some of you guys are crazy! I'm not too much of a speed demon I guess, I've got kids to think about. One little mistake and you're dead or eating your meals through a straw.

I think I remember reading about this in the Times a few years back.

 

1990 ZR1 with manual tranny and I did let off, but there was more left.
Mods on my Train are:
103" big bore
S.E. 204 cams
Zippers open air filter
V&H staggered S.S.
PC III and a real good tune
I was runnin' side by side with my buddy and his Yamaha R6.

 

Still wish my dad has a nice area to top out his Vette. 650 bhp in a 3200 lb car. His trap speed in the 1/4 mile is 120+ but he spins through 3rd on street tires. So im fairly sure 140 would come in about 14 seconds or so and from then on its just how much ***** I feel like I have.

Nice to see im not the only one who likes to peg the bike every now and then. I really wish all my vehicles didnt feel like aircraft at speeds over 120.

I still dont have the courage to ride my roommates GSXR too fast again. I dont have full leathers and I dumped it once. Im sure it can get to 160ish fairly easily.

 

Thanks for that info Smug, I had my friend's 89 Vette out once (it was only a year old then) and it was automatic. I don't think it would go near as fast as yours also...

No wonder you were up there on your NT, awesome setup you got. Nice to be on something not made for speed when you are beside your friend's R6.
