I get what you are saying. Some of the Vulcans have a similar dash to this. As a deluxe owner, I've always had a liking for the RK dash panel and have wondered if I could mate one to my Deluxe. I'll likely never do it but hey, we can all dream!

I'd think 3 bills would cover filling in the weld and repainting. It's a basic red paint.

 

I think that looks awesome on your bike Dude. I think that red really sets it off and works great together. It's probably the 1st one I have seen and liked so well. I keep toying with the idea of switching mine out but I am not going to do anything with it until I figure out if and when I am going to get my bike painted. I already have another tank for if and when I paint it, now I just need a few fenders. I am not going to ruin and paint over the stock black and white, its to "classic". Yours however looks very sweet!

 

i'am doing mine this weekend, that dash has been on back order for a while, my question is on the trumpet horn- did you use the rubber hose between the cylinders?
