Thanks for the compliments on my bike....which has become a Trike. You can see it here: https://www.hdforums.com/forum/hacke...o-a-trike.html

Major back and leg issues caused me to convert if I am still going to ride. Doing my best to keep the classic look.

I received my wire wheels and white wall tires and they are installed. The tires in the ppics are so i can move it around in my garage, and of course a lil test ride here or there. My fenders are in for paint this week!
Sorry to hear about your back Thom. The trike is going to look great. You need 2 more rear cheese graters now. LOL!

Its nice but not for me, it makes it look like a metric tank to me! I'm not knocking it, I would never knock anyones choices on what they do or don't do to thier sleds but when I first seen it thats what it reminded me of. Is it just me? If so, sorry!

Well I can say this, I know the Cat Eye Dash for Harley goes back at least to the 50's, maybe back longer, just not sure.

If anything the metrics have copied the look.

Update from a Harley History site: 1946 last year of the Cat’s Eyes Dash.

I'm in the middle of changing the dash on my '10 deluxe over to a heritage dash (thanks for the idea) and it seems like the contour of the dash is slightly different from the contour of the tank causing a small gap along the side. Did anybody else see this or do I just need to reposition the dash?

A cat's eye dash?

The hole for the console bolt is about an inch lower on the cat's eye than the standard softail dash.

You need to come up with a bracket for the bolt so that it lines up on the tank properly.

Yeah, I'm making a bracket to drop the mounting bolt (and the alignment pegs). My issue is how the sides of the dash sit on the tank - it seems like there's a small gap that wasn't there with my original dash. My imagination?

I'd be interested in seeing a picture of your modified bracket to hold the dash on. I'm have the same dash that I"m trying to mount to a FXSTC...the mounting bolt doesn't line up with the hole in the dash.
Thx!
