Mine are Wild 1's Chubby 14 inchers on 1 3/4" risers with the stock Night Train top clamp. They are wide. I've also heard good things about HCC bars. If you want to look at narrow ones Burly Brand look nice. Schaub85 has them on his bike. I'm 5'11" and 14 was as high as I felt comfortable going on a Night Train and still be able to push the bars forward. Pushing them forward, straight up, or pulled back is just a matter of personal style and riding comfort. You could probably go 16 at your height just depends on your arm length. I went with Magnum Shielding for my cables and NAMS 15" for my wire extensions. I can't remember what cable length I ordered but I wish that I had gone a little longer on my clutch and a little shorter on my brake. I don't know if the cable lengths would be the same on an 03' as an 09' but if so I can find the lengths for you on the 14's. Calling the guys at Magnum or just using their online calculator would probably be better.

Wow all I can say I wish this post was up when I did my bars it would have saved me a lot of trouble.
As far as bar height I used 16"s and at 6' I'm very happy with them.
They come just below my sholders. I think a bit has to do with body type as I have more height in my torso so that might be somthing to factor in as well as the angle you set the bars at.
Nice job by the way and I do like the color Fatty you chose I wish it was aviable in 07.
One thing I might suggest is the you run your break line on the other side of the bar then you can tie all the cables together and tie it at the base of the bar for a cleaner look.

HAHA Sorry I had two Ape install windows and I posted to the wrong one in case if your wondering what the hell I'm taking about

JD8181,

Keep an eye on this spot.. we're in the same boat so to speak... I have the same scoot you do (well, almost) 03 Train, and I just ordered the Carlini Gangster Apes + Hi-Roller Risers (16" on the apes). I have never done a self-install before, but I am about to as soon as I get back from the sand-box (Dubai) next weekend. I also have the mini-tach... I am thinking a custom mount will be the way to go.. I work in aviation, one of the techs at Continental here in Houston said he could fabricate one to spec, and just powdercoat and go.. we shall see...

As for cables, since I want the look of the HD Diamond Black, I am leaning towards going with the Magnum Black Pearl... but still don't know the right length..... anyone have any experience with installing the Carlini's ?

18" Nash Gimphangers pushed a little forward w/ sportster risers I think (came w/ the bike). I'm 5'11" w/ a Danny Gray solo seat and I've done 500 mile days w/ those bad boys. I love em.
