Id say 16s would be good. Im 6'6'' and my 18s are perfect, go with the 16s. You wont regret it

I just put 16 inch HCC apes on my 01 fatboy (stock 2in risers)...They come right at the top of my shoulders...very comfortable...I also have a tack...I just mounted it on the outside of the bar...I am 5'10" and they feel great.

By the way it was "ballsout" post that made me decide to do it myself...you should read his install post...also do a search for all the others and you will find lots of good info...

I am glad I went with 16 instead of 14 as I was considering...good thing about going 16 is that you can always downsize and probably would have less issues with wiring and cables.

Apes come in all different sizes from the width across the bottom also important is how wide you want them at the top I went with Drag Specialties they have all sizes mine are 11 1/2 on the bottom and 41 across the top i'm 5"10 and have 16s on my softail alot of apes are 37" across the top if you can find a pair on someone else is bike is the best way to go good luck

i made that tach bracket i'm using right now myself so i'm sure i can fab up something new to mount it on the other side of the risers
