With short risers, that tach might be too close to the tank dash.
If the tach itself can rotate, you could mount it on the upper bolts of the riser top clamp, but that might require a new mounting plate since the holes are further apart.
I'm waiting to see those badass custom apes you put on yours! wheres the pics bro?
i also have a tach mounted on my risers. what am i going to have to do with that? any one with apes have a tach? (you can probably see that tach in this pic)
I just put 16 inch HCC apes on my 01 fatboy (stock 2in risers)...They come right at the top of my shoulders...very comfortable...I also have a tack...I just mounted it on the outside of the bar...I am 5'10" and they feel great.
By the way it was "ballsout" post that made me decide to do it myself...you should read his install post...also do a search for all the others and you will find lots of good info...
I am glad I went with 16 instead of 14 as I was considering...good thing about going 16 is that you can always downsize and probably would have less issues with wiring and cables.

Apes come in all different sizes from the width across the bottom also important is how wide you want them at the top I went with Drag Specialties they have all sizes mine are 11 1/2 on the bottom and 41 across the top i'm 5"10 and have 16s on my softail alot of apes are 37" across the top if you can find a pair on someone else is bike is the best way to go good luck

i made that tach bracket i'm using right now myself so i'm sure i can fab up something new to mount it on the other side of the risers
