After riding a metric bike (I rode Kaws or 30 years) it is a little strange to get used to. Actually, it's a good design and with the lock in feature, works great.

Never had an issue with mine. Just give it a good kick forward and be sitting on the bike when you set it on the stand just in case.

...I have even had mine roll forward a bit but the stand locks and has never tippedl over...does scare the shizz out of you the first few times. My biggest prblem when I started riding HDs was forgetting to put the damn thing up ...my metrics had kill switches on the stands....the bike dies train you after a couple times

just make sure the bike is leaning on it before you let it roll, it will lock in place. Most that have issues with them are the ones who don't use it correctly

My bike went over on my way back from Sturgis a bunch of years ago. I was tired and was at a gas station. As I got off the bike, the jiffy strand was down, but the pavement sloped down. I get off on the high side so I couldn't catch it as it rolled forward and dumped. What a PITA!

I am now extra careful.

Yeah i tend to do what most people on here do and give the stand an extra kick to make sure, there's an old Harley mag ad that shows a guy leaning on a evo dyna, the bike is on its stand and is facing down a steep hill every time i saw the ad i could imagine the bike rolling off the stand and cartwheeling down the road.

I just installed a center stand on my 09 Heritage. I love it and cannot understand why I waited 4 months to do it. But I do agree, the kick stand on a Harley is much safer than on my Goldwing.
