96" to 103" for $1000 good or bad deal
Alright so my original thread of 96" to 100" was wrong I dont know where I got 100" from. Probably engines I was looking into buying.
The local dealer does an in house job boring out the stock 96" to 103" using your stock jugs. They heat treat it and have an in house guarantee if anything goes wrong they will fix it for free and im sure a couple of other things on top of that.
They quoted me at $999 without tax for the bore job and $1450 for the bore with a dyno tune as well.
I was also considering going with a cam install as well and since the engine was being worked on it would only be $700 including cam cost. They said 211 and 255 cams (I think) would be the best street legal cams and everything added up would be around 100 hp/tq.
Only reason im not considering doing this is because im not sure my extended warranty (Assurant) covers the SE parts but the local dealer will.
Good deal or bad?

I might price a kit and call around and see what other places say. Not a lot of people around here have dynos at all so im pretty limited. I dont want to get it all installed at once place and have another place dyno it and something break while it gets dyno'd and no one wants to admit fault.
The dyno tune alone is $370 at every dealership here which sucks but if I do the kit I'll need it. The last dealer that put my pipes and intake on did a generic tune so I know its not getting everything it could.
Do any of the 103" kits come with 211 cams? I hear the 255s fall flat in higher rpm. Im really looking into a high rpm pull from my bike right now. Also is there any other kit other than 103" that I can get that gets more power than a 103? Possibly 107:"?

Check out Jamie's 107" kit at fuelmoto. There is a big thread about it in the touring section I believe. Fuelmoto is a supporting vendor and is top knotch. www.fuelmotousa.com

Ok Ill throw a post up in the tech section and see what they say. I hate the fact that I dont have much info on the kit. I might wait and see what the tech info is on it so they can help me out more.
That 107" kit is insane. That torque curve was nasty and just what im looking for. I might send them an email and make sure it fits and check with a few dealers and shops around here and see if I can get someone to install it and dyno it with no issues.
