There were issues with some seals coming up and flaking.... I thought it was 02 models.

But with todays gas, you never know..

That sealer will have to come out some way. If you don't it will flake inside the tank and get caught in the fuel lines... Which causes the engine to stop because you choked the fuel out of it..... I know... I've had it happen.. Pain in the ***....

I didn't bother to re seal it.... There's threads on the pros and cons of sealing and which sealer is the best.

How ya doin Joe? Long time since I have talked to ya.

Ya as Springer says....there have been some problems with the coating coming loose. That really sucks for you. I hope you can get it taken care of soon so you can ride that thing.

Got my seat done like yours some time ago, not been able to send ya any pics though.

Take Care Buddy!

I have an 02 with 55K miles and have not had that issue as of yet. As far as sending it out to be blasted, that sounds about right as well.

Yes I Have Read About The Sealer There Are 3,, The One Everyone Is Recomending Is RED-KOTE, And That Is That Im Going With
Thank You
Harley03joe

And This Is Why
RED-KOTE ® FUEL TANK LINER
STAYS FLEXIBLE - Will never crack or peel off.
ALCOHOL - GASOLINE RESISTANT
BRIGHT COLOR - You can see the results.
COVERS RUST - Seals old rust in and prevents future rusting.
SEALS LEAKS - Gets the multitude of pin-holes you can't find

Yes Jim Long Time No See , I'm Glade You Got Your Seat Done, I Bet It Looks Real Good, Send Me A Pic
And Yes It Does Suck , I Just Had Harley Replace My Fuel Pump In Oct, I Wonder Why It Was Not Seen Then, That Is What Really Sucks
Talk Soon Ok

Post Had My Fuel Tank Relined

Had My Fuel Tank Relined.
I Used Red Kote, But By The Drain Hole On The Left Rear Of The Tank The Red Kote Pooled A Little About A 1/8 of an inch, Then I Air Dryed It With A Fan For 48 Hours That Was Done On Wed. The Take Will Have Gas Put Back It In Monday That Will Be 5 Days Dry Time, And I Don't Smell The Red Kote Lineing Any More.
Question Is This Do You Think That The Pooling Will Be Ok Or Not, Remember It Had 5 Days Dry Time.

I Called Red Kote And Was Told That Is Will Feel Rubbery Or Spongy And That Is Fine.

What Do You Guys Think ?
Why Did Harley Put A Crap Liner In The Tank In The First Place ?

Thank You
