Thanks to all of you who replied. I think I'll look for a springer rail & pad or check back with fire house customs. I may get the seat fixed by mean city cycles also. They fixed the seat on my husband's HD Ultra & now he loves it.

Default seat

the springer seat rail and pad are very popular the rail is still around but the pad is getting very hard to find. mustang would be resonabley priced and ready available.

If you decide you want to go with a firehouse let me know I have one just sitting around I can do a good deal on it. I went with the springer rail and large pad and could not be any happier

Looked high and low for a driver backrest for my 07 deluxe. A few aftermarkets but none folded down. Heritage rail and tall backrest were available on eBay for 600 plus. Gave some thought to the hd signature seat at 550.00. Went to cavalry custom as suggested in another thread. Showed fold downs but only for metric bikes. Emailed the company and they did have a fold down for softails. Got it today. Pretty comfortable. Cons awkward to fold down and up while on the bike. Other cons does not disconnect. All in all in all seems pretty comfortable. Happy with the choice.
