Crossbones vs. Fatboy Lo
I got a loan approved by the bank for my bike and I can't pull the trigger. I'm torn between a Fatboy Lo and a Crossbones. Be riding solo about 80% of the time and most of my riding will be around town with a few longer trips. I live in Reno so I'll get plenty of time to ride once winter is over.
What do I need to know?
Any pros and cons between the 2 bikes?
Anyone have experience with both?
Any other bikes I should be looking at?
I'm looking for some advice thats not coming from a guy trying to make a sale. Thanks in advance...

Both are nice bikes. The only down side with either one is the extra maintenance on the springer front end on the Crossbones. Don't really have any experience with it but, since I prefer doing my own maintenance, I would check into that first. Might not be hard to do, but Ive heard it can be pricey for the dealer to do it. Hopefully somebody with a springer front end will chime in.

ive had to many different bikes, just ask my wife. But i will tell you this, know one can tell you which bike to buy. Ride both again, and again until you know what you want. Think about what type of riding you will do and second what you want your bike to look like. Ive ridden sportsters and dynas and touring. For me it comes down to what i want from my bike. However the softail (fatboy lo) im about to get is a great bike as far as the balanced motor and the style and thats what im getting. Its all about your preference and what you want. Reading this site is just a guide to narrow it down. Hope it helps.

i bought a Crossbones as a 2nd bike when they 1st came out...the 1st thing i did was replace the stock seat...felt like i was "above" the bike...and, at 5'9", my feet werent totally flat on the ground...Brawler seat cured that...they make some different seats now, that look like you sit a little lower...
i love the look of the springer front end...handling is no different...get a lot of comments on the bike...
i had an Indy, that was a tech at a dealer for a lot of years, do the front end service...he works alone, and does things right...cost me $40, compared to $139 that the dealer wanted.
only have to do it every 10k, after the 1st one at 500 miles...
only other thing ive done is changed the exhaust...too much chrome there, IMO...
i bought the Hookers, when they had the clearance sale...if not for the price, i woulda got some upswept pipes...
