Default stretch gas tank question

put on my new tins, the gas tank is an after market 2 piece stretched tank. by the nipple for the crossover there is an extra nipple pointing straight down. It is connectes to a tube inside the tank that runs up to an opening by the gas cap. Any ides what this is? a vent? do i just run a hose down the frame to allow for overflow/venting? picture attached (sorry its pretty crappy), but it's the nipple without the hose.

Looks like a drain for the vent on the tank. Put a small rubber hose on it and run it down the frame so it won't drip on anything on the bike.

Vent...You can run a vent line down the down tube and under the bike.

Default Vent

Hi neighbor,, Its a air vent and also a place for fuel to go if you overfill bike and leave it in the sun. Harley's is on top of my Deuce facing forward and goes into a black single layer fuel hose (not vacuum hose) that comes down by the neck and runs all way back and down in front of rear tire. Most people probably think its a wire by the neck bearing. The CA bike is hooked to a carbon canister.

On my stretched tank on my FXR there is a recessed area around the fuel cap and a small pipe runs from that to the bottom of the tank like yours to get rid of any spillage no type of vent at all you can see the small pipe goes right up thru the tank.
