Default Self Canceling Turn Signals on 93 FLSTC?

Stupid question: Just bought a '93 Heritage Classic and the turn signals don't self cancel. I can't remember if Harley was putting self canceling signals on all their bikes 18 years ago but I do remember that my '79 Yamaha XS1100 had them.

Did this bike not come with self canceling turn signals or did the previous owner break them when he installed an aftermarket speedometer?

Hrmm. Nobody knows this? I guess I'll just have to wait until my service manual shows up later this week.

Don't know when Harley started with the self canceling but my 84 did not have them. Had to hold the button in for them to flash.

I am pretty sure that they did. My friend has what I think is a '93 Heritage and the turn signals used to self cancel, but the self cancel thingy broke (all by itself) and now he has to hand cancel them

Pretty sure first year to self cancel was 96...also first year of electric speedo...at least on Softails... you can buy a module and add it on....I have them on my 84.

The turn signals cancel on a timer that is based on how many feet you travel after you push the button, it counts feet instead of seconds. There is a little black box mounted to the frame a little to the rear of the speed-O, it does the job, see if it's there and hooked up to the speedometer. I'm guessing it's either not hooked up or can't be due to the type of speed-O.

I had an 89 Springer Softail that did not cancel.

I'm betting your 93 did not come with self cancel, but wait for someone to actually confirm that.
