The Plug-in Illuminator Series with red lenses. Is this a good product? If you own it, have you had problems with it? Any pictures that you've taken with it on? Just want some feedback before I purchase it. Thanks!! http://www.badlandsmotorcycleproducts.com/

I don't have one, but there are a few people around here with one version or another of them, HD also markets them if you want to compare prices. Not sure how an aftermarket unit might affect the warrenty, but the HD units should be safe.

I have the HD unit and its a piece of cake to install, you take off the seat, find the wireing harness that goes through the rear fender un plug it and plug in the new module. The new module can only be pluged in the correct way so you cant mess it up. put your seat back on and chage out your rear lenses and your all set. I forget how much the HD unit is, but it works great. I assume that the after market unit is probably the same thing, probably made by the same company. If you do decide to go with HD unit, be carefull though, they have 2 different styles to choose from, one unit will make your rear turn signals into running lights, break lights and turn signals. The other unit only does running lights and turn signals no break lights so make sure you get the one that you want.

My Harley Dealer talked me into the Kuryakan kit for $40 more (run, brake, and turn kit, plus the lenses)............the benfit over the HD one is that the brakle light automatically flashes 3 times each time you brake............a BIG benefit in my opinion.

H-D markets a product with the same functions. It comes in different versions. Prices run $55.00 to $60.00. I checked the site you mentioned. They want $89.00 to $127.00. If I were to get one, I would stick with the H-D version. H-D prices run $55.00 to $60.00. Besides, it would be designed for your bike. No guess work or mis-wiring etc. JMO

The H-D unit is ideal, especially if you have the factory security system. Aftermarket units will require the addition of a load resistor to ensure the flashing lights will continue to work with the security system. Kuryakyn charges an additional $40 or so for this option. [:@]
