Do I need a shorter kick stand?
#3
I have a cross bones kickstand which is 1" shorter, but it is not really necessary. I ran with air ride and a regular stand for several years. I came into the crossbones kickstand as a part of some floorboard brackets and boards I bought. It was already attached to the floorbard brackets so I left it on. Just make sure your bars are turned to the left when you park.
When I got my first air ride I turned the bars to the right and the bike almost went over. If you are turning forks to the right raise the bike up first.

I am currently installing floorboards from an O10 fatboy lo, just realized the -1" shortie kickstand I got 2 years ago won't fit, it will be in the parts section soon.
My rear is slammed 1.5, front 2", I have to be super careful , the scary part is when someone pushes the bike or rests against it, gets hairy.
If you keep stock stand, make sure you park up hill (so the bike wants to roll back not forward) and pick spots where the ground is uneven and put the kick stand in the lower part.
