Handy, I think the Metz 150 is 'correct' 150 if you think of it as 150mm, the Dunlop's are a bit out of whack, I have a 150 CruizerMax that is almost 160mm.

My guess is that most manfucturer's are correct, but Dunlop is just a bit large.

Each manfucturer will list the 'true' width of the tire on their site.

Mu bike had a 150 Dunlop when I bought it (2002 fatboy) and I put on a 150 Metzeler as well when i had stock wheels. The strut bilts ahd been ground down so that there was no extra bolt sticking out past the nut for the strut bolt. Nothing was turned around. Never had an issue related to this.
