I too want to lose that damn seat post. Is it really unnecessary? I eventually want to install some true duals, but I don't see how there will be room for the rear pipe, with the seat post in the way.

the seat post is not necessary,it ONLY holds the coil.i used it and modified it with the horn bracket to relocate the coil between the cylinders.then i bought custom plug wires from USKOOLINES

I took mine out and do love the way it looks without it. I mounted the coil under the horn cover
