I thought I took a video but apparently I did not. Walked about 100 feet away and the music was loud and clear. I'll get one tomorrow. Here is how I mounted everything.

I took the speakers off the stock mounting brackets.
Speaker

Mounting bracket

I drilled a hole in between the two holes in the top of the bracket on a drill press.

I mounted the brackets using some clamps I had laying around.

I attached the speaker to each bracket using the stock screws.

For the wiring I took the stock harness and chopped it up and added both pigtails for the audio to it. Solder, shrink wrap, you know the drill.
Before solder and shrink wrap

After solder and shrink wrap

I then wired it all up, it is plug and play. One pigtail off the audio cable to each of the harness'. I used quick splices to power the second set of speakers right off the first set of speakers power and ground lines. I then zip tied and put all the wiring inside the fork tins and that was it. I was planning on making a more streamlined mounting bracket, but these speakers are heavy and i was feeling lazy.

Now, more importantly....lets see some pics of the 54 big dog!!! It's one of my favorite years and since you teased us with that shot that fat white wall and what looks like a cross bar hub cab......

We want to see!
I dont have any pics of the 54, but if it helps, its a pristine, white over aqua 4dr, 235 six with three on the tree, and high tech 460 air (35000 original miles). Downright pretty first year Bel Air. interior is stock, right down to the radio, which still works. The only mods done is a visor and twice pipes with glass packs. Looks good, sounds insane, and drives even better..
I guess the next time we have it out for the show on Friday night at Bob's Big Boy in Burbank, I'll shoot a few for you.

Hey Drew - I'm not getting why drilling a hole is required to mount them to the crash bar, can you explain?

The hole is how the bracket mounts to the clamp that I used. I was blasting Ripple from Reckoning on the way home yesterday. It was great! "That's Otis!"

now for some true 5.1, put a sub under your seat. Looks great! I have never thought about adding sound before, but now, the wheels have started turning. Thanks, for sharing a future mod!

Cool, thanks. Love Ripple, but there are more uplifting tunes.
