I say dump the catalogs for an iPAD and stuff it with PDF files. You can even place the orders right there without making a phone call.

Otherwise, I think Hard Bags would be the right move.

Oh yeah.. if you get the bagger tail, go with the chrome.
Getting the black is the only regret I have, even though it does kind of disappear with the bags on, it is still pretty visible

If you must have bags on your Fatboy, why not go detachable. On when you need them and off most of the time. If you go with soft bags, look at custom made bags to your specs, look at Just Leather, great people http://www.justleathers.com/

One thing I forgot to mention about putting hard bags on a softail...

I've got two friends who have done it...both bikes are Deluxe's.

There is one bad thing they both expierenced with the bags, it negitavely effected the bikes handling. At freeway speeds, both bikes got the wobbles. Not sure why this happened, but it did to both bikes. Both bikes have air ride as well, not sure if that makes a difference or not.

Not a super big deal, they just ride a little slower now...keeping the bike under 80 is what was needed. Anything at or above and they both bikes got a little squirley.

Just something to think about.

I just took a 4 hour ride to Pittsburg a few weeks back and did 85+ almost the whole way. Have also done a few 60 mile runs each way at 75+. Never had a problem with any wobble. Ive got the hardbags on a Deluxe but no air ride. I didnt notice any difference at all in handling. Wonder if it is the air ride that was causing their wobble. Just not sure why air ride would cause a wobble.....that is interesting though.

Anyone have an extremely reasonable set of bags for me? Either hard or Road King classic bags will do.
I mean under $200. This holiday season is going to be a tough one for sure. But...my birthday is coming and about a month. We'll see what we can talk people into!
