Default I Removed some Chrome...say what?!

Yep, I actually removed some chrome last week. I was looking at the bike and it just seemed like it needed more black contrast along the frame lines.

I took off the neck and downtube covers, along with the boomerang covers near the swing arm.

What do you think? Leave the covers off, or put them back on...for now I think i'll leave them off.

Before....

After...

Gosh, looks great either way. Did you have any damage to the powder coating from the covers?

After going back and forth about 30 times, I think you made a good call. Bike looks cleaner especially without the downtube covers. Sweet ride, man.

The only covers that impacted the powder coating were the downtube covers. The did leave some small scratches in the coating but with a little waxing and elbow grease are barely detectable.

It's one of those "I'm the only one that will notice" deals...the key is to remove the covers as carefully as possible.

Or maybe you have a part number? You dont see people with those on a deluxe like mine, and I like standing out.

I like it, some people are all chrome or all black, I agree a nice balance looks better. Nice Bike.

Thanks dennyo...

And yeah, of the covers I took off, those are the ones I'm most unsure of leaving off...maybe I'll just throw the HD inserts in there, I think they leave some black still showing.

Looks good either way... IMO covers off is a great balance though. I like the lines of a black frame. Matches well with black tins.
