Default leather care

hey all. I've noticed the leather along the back of my heritage seat is starting to get a little hard. I thought I take pretty decent care of the leather. I used that harley cream a few times a season and leather cleaner a few more times. Any advice on what I can use to put a little moister back into the leather?

I clean mine with saddle soap followed by mink oil to soften and repel water. Works great on all my leather ( boots, jacket, gloves and chaps). I do give it 24 hours to "settle in" before riding.

It can darken the leather but if its black...perfect.

I'll give the mink oil a try. anyone else out there with a few good tricks? It's like the leather is drying out or something

X 2 on Mink Oil. Work it in really well and let it sit a while before polishing.

If you can do it when the seat is warm and let whatever moisturizer you use sit in the sun for a while. the heat will xepand the pores of the leather and will help the moisturizer penetrate

I've never put a thing on my seat in the 3 years I've owned it. Been soaked in the rain several times. Looks as good as new and feels better than new. How old are your seats.

well its an '09... the seat itself is great, and the bags are losing shape a bit, but otherwise good, it just seems to be the very back part of the seat where all the studs are.

I know the seat itself isn't leather. Do you know if the back part is real leather or vinyleather. I've read some different opinions on leather care. I used that Harley stuff on my bags one time and I was done with it. It just sits on the surface. I've since read that conditioners are useless on most automotive grade leather because it's sealed and nothing gets past it. Since then I just clean mine with a leather cleaner.

Any decent paste style leather cleaner/softner will work just fine. Mink oil works well also. Don't be cheap with it. Work it in well then let it set up a bit before buffing.

if it is real leather, the mink oil is the best
if it is vinyl, nothing is going to soak in
