I agree that you probably don't need it on a 7 year old bike.

You could always take the $1100. and stick in a seperate bank account for a year or put away $91.66 a month into a seperate account. That wouldn't quite be the same return as the insurance but it wouldn't be a loss of money if you never needed to use it.

When I bought my bike my salesman was a friend of a friend, and he told me what most salesmen won't. Do not buy the warranty if you're planning on modding the engine anytime soon. He says ANY mod will void the warranty. It'll just be waisted money.

In my own opinion, with that low of mileage on the bike it would not be worth it, but then again warranty's are generally for a piece of mind for a large investment, so if you are going to be riding and worrying about the bike breaking down the whole time, then by all means get it.

As one poster said before, the dealer will void it if you do any mods, and I myself havent been to a dealer I really trust to make good on a warranty, i see a harley dealer finding any and all reason to void a warranty, and I think there policy on mod's voiding warranties traps alot of people into paying there RIDICULOUS labor prices, i wont give them one more cent then i have too

i bought an 06 fatboy off a guy and he didnt offer me the extended warranty he had on it. he was going to get the credit and put it towards the warranty on the new one he was getting. I rode it home, and then the next nice day i took it out for a ride. I got 30 miles down the road and started to get covered with oil on my leg and arm. The fork seal was busted and was blowing oil all over me. I called and guy and said WTF. He felt bad about it and he signed the extended warranty over to me (3 yrs left on it) and i got it taken care of.

I would have never thought i woulda needed it but sometimes you never know what is going to happen and its better to be safe then sorry.

SPEND THE $$$$

When I bought my new Lo they threw in the tire warranty for free. At 5K mile service they put a new rear tire on the bike for free. The original Dunlop had worn to the bone. I like warranties.

Well, ended up buying the warranty. I was wrong thinking the warranty was 1 year for $1100. The price schedule on the warranty is one year for $1100, two years for $1175, three years for $1250. He cut the price a little so I ended up with 3 years for about $1150. That kind of pricing schedule makes it difficult for anyone to not buy a warranty.

i think you did good. 3 years for unknown history on the bike. enjoy the peace of mind
I dont know if it is included but the national HOG membership comes with road side and for $20 you get a great upgrade.
